Margo Reed is the founder and director of Margo Reed Design, a residential interior and building design studio based in Noosa, Queensland, with projects throughout the Sunshine Coast, Sydney and its surrounds.

With over 25 years of experience, her work is shaped by an early connection to design and a refined understanding of materials, craftsmanship, detail, and the way a home is truly lived in.
​
After studying Interior Design in Sydney before completing a Master's degree at Domus Academy in Milan, Margo began her career working with some of Australia's most respected names in architecture, interiors and film.
​
Her experience includes Heather Buttrose Associates, Renato D'Ettorre Architects, and the Academy Award-winning creative team of Catherine Martin and Baz Luhrmann, where she developed a deep appreciation for storytelling through space, materiality and detail.
​
She later spent close to a decade as Head Designer and Creative Director at The Designory, leading the design of residential projects throughout Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.
Working closely with discerning clients, consultants and builders, she refined an approach that balances creativity with technical expertise, ensuring every project is both beautifully resolved and highly functional.

Today, Margo brings this breadth of experience to every project, creating thoughtful homes that are timeless, deeply personal and effortless to live in.

A true homebody, outside of the studio you'll find Margo tending to her garden, reading, baking sourdough or cooking for family and friends.

Otherwise she's exploring nature, sailing with her husband, spending time at the beach, bushwalking, or travelling the world, continually seeking inspiration through architecture, culture and the beauty of everyday life.

Each project is approached as a cohesive whole where building design, interiors, and finishing touches come together as a whole and with clarity and intention. Space, light, materials, and texture are carefully considered to create homes that feel calm, layered, and deeply personal.

Margo works on a limited number of projects each year, allowing for a thoughtful, collaborative process and a high level of detail in every outcome.

Each project begins with listening; to the clients needs and requests, to the property, its surroundings, and the rhythms of daily life allowing the process to shape homes that feel intuitive, refined, and effortless to inhabit.
